Volcano Tour to Fagradalsfjall and Blue Lagoon (Private)
Volcano Tour to Iceland’s Latest Attraction
Iceland has a new eruption. In Geldingadalur, on the Reykjanes peninsula. Pumping molten rock into the valley, this incredible marvel of nature is drawing big crowds. This is Iceland’s first eruption in 7 years, and it is practically in our back yard. It will not take very long to reach the site where you can travel on foot directly to the very live volcano, and one that we hope continues to be active for a long time to come. Come and join us on this incredible volcano tour.
How and Where?
The eruption itself is only a short drive from Reykjavík. We will pick you up either at, or near your hotel and from there you will head to the southern edge of the peninsula. Or, if you are driving your own vehicle, a professional, local expert guide will meet you on site. After arriving at the parking lot you will begin your hike directly the site of the volcano. This hike takes around 3-4 hours, depending on your ability. Whilst the trail itself is not especially difficult, it does help if you are no stranger to hiking and are well prepared. After the hike, you will then be rewarded in your efforts, and can gaze upon this stunning volcano in all of its glory, with hot, crackling lava spreading out into the surrounding valleys, creating new land.
The Blue Lagoon
If you so choose, after your trip to the volcano you can then head off for a well-earned soak in the soothing waters of the magnificent Blue Lagoon, and we may possible even be able to visit some of the other stunning sights of the Reykjanes peninsula along the way. This is just a short ride from the hiking trail where you will be able to relax in the calming, milky-blue waters, reflecting on your adventure and witnessing one of Mother Nature’s most incredible creations.
