Serbia - Montenegro (by flight) - Bosnia & Herzegovina - Croatia

Day 1

Belgrade - Arrival

Upon arrival in Belgrade, the capital of Serbia, you will be welcomed by your Tour Manager and escorted to your hotel. When you get into your coach, just relax and meet New Belgrade by a short drive from Nikola Tesla Airport. You’ll see prominent Belgrade’s blocks, classic example of Socialistic architecture built after World War II, and modern business centers among which Ušće Center surely predominates. During the drive enjoy the image and stories about Western Gate of Belgrade, famous Belgrade Arena and monumental Palace of Serbia. Check into your hotel.

Day 2

Belgrade - Fruška Gora - Sremski Karlovci - Novi Sad - Belgrade

Breakfast. Today you will explore most interesting sights of Vojvodina, Serbian Northern Province. Drive through picturesque sceneries and famous wine region toward “Serbian Holly land” that hosts 17 functioning Serbian Orthodox monasteries. You will stop by and enter in two impressive and well preserved monasteries – Krušedol and Novo Hopovo, where you’ll have an opportunity to buy monastery wine and rakia. Tour continues to Sremski Karlovci. Sremski Karlovci presents a real gem of Serbian culture and spirituality. Baroque town center, Patriarchy, Cathedral of Saint Nicolas and first Serbian Gymnasium – all this make Sremski Karlovci a “museum town”. It is also famous for wine production and annual festival “Wineball”. As Sremski Karlovci lies on the banks of Danube you’ll seize the moment and have a time for lunch at the shore of the biggest Central-European river. Further on, you are going to future European capital of culture 2021, Novi Sad. The capital of Vojvodina has been historical border of two Empires – Austro-Hungarian and Ottoman, which resulted in multi-cultural city with interesting mix of architectural influences. We’ll see Dunavska and Zmaj Jovina Street that compose city’s pedestrian zone, the City Hall, Catholic Church, old city center, house of Albert Einstein’s wife Mileva, cultural foundation Matica Srpska and Synagogue. Then you’ll follow to the right bank of Danube and visit Petrovaradin, so-called Danube’s Gibraltar, where the Fortress is located. On the place where you can enjoy in wonderful view of Danube and whole Novi Sad, you can take a chance and end this day with dinner in wonderful ambience. 

Day 3

Day 4

Flight to Montenegro - Kotor - Dubrovnik

Breakfast. Hotel check-out and transfer to Belgrade Airport. Flight to Tivat, Montenegro. Upon arrival you’ll take a tour around Bay of Kotor that is with its unique landscape a must-see location for more than 500 cruisers during a year. The best way to explore Bay of Kotor is a walking tour around the UNESCO site - old Mediterranean town of Kotor that dates back to the 12th and 14th century. In Kotor you’ll have free time to wander around the old bricked town, or take a lunch at one of romantic squares of the old town. Next stop in Kotor Bay is the town of Perast, little settlement in baroque style. From Perast you’ll start a relaxing boat ride along Boka Kotorska Bay to picturesque island of Our Lady of the Rock. This manmade Island hosts a church with valuable paintings of local artists, silver votive tablets and a famous votive tapestry. Drive to Dubrovnik. Check into the hotel.

Day 5

Dubrovnik sightseeing

Breakfast. Start walking tour around Dubrovnik - One of the most significant monuments in the world, and one of Europe's best preserved walled cities known since 7th century. The old town is surrounded with a 2 km long wall that gives a great opportunity to see old Dubrovnik from above, during one-hour relaxing walk: city churches, fortification and monuments are a real must-see. Dubrovnik enchanted lots of famous persons to devote their pieces of art to the city, so in this city of marble and light colored stone you’ll find numerous art galleries and unique shops. In the historical center of Dubrovnik you will visit the Main Square Stradun, also called Placa, Pile Gate, Rector’s Palace, Sponza palace, Old Town Walls, the church of St. Blaise, the Cathedral, the Jesuit church, Orlando’s Column, Onofrio’s Large Fountain (Great Onofrio Well), the city port and other hidden gems. Optional Tours in Dubrovnik: - Cable car - Dubrovnik Cable Car will drive you to the top of the Srđ Hill, where you can stretch your view up to 60 km across Adriatic coast, and this wonderful city. - Seafood dinner in Dubrovnik - In the evening you’ll have opportunity to visit a local restaurant where the group will enjoy Croatian seafood dishes and wines. 

Day 6

Dubrovnik - Blagaj - Mostar - Split

Breakfast. On your way to one of the most beautiful cities of the Balkan Peninsula, Mostar, you’ll make a short stop and visit at Blagaj (monument is on the tentative UNESCO list), old town from the 15th century where Kosača noble family ruled. Also Blagaj was the crib of Islam of today’s Bosnia and Herzegovina, when dervish Sari Satluk built a khanqah at the river-head of Buna. During a short tour, enjoy the view of the Monastery located in a fairy-tale environment, beneath the cliffs on the shores of the emerald green river Buna. Walking tour around Mostar starts with a visit to the symbol of this city, Balkan TOP 10 and the most photographed sight in the country - Old Bridge (UNESCO protected monument). You proceed to Koski Mehmed pasa Mosque, the Crooked Bridge and old tanner’s quarter Tabhana. Free time in Mostar for getting a lunch at the bank of the Neretva River, with amazing view of the bridge that rises above you. Drive along beautiful Makarska coast with wonderful views over Croatian islands, wine & olive plantation and stone-made villages, towards Split. 

Day 7

Split - Trogir - Split

Breakfast. Start the sightseeing tour in Split - the largest Dalmatian city, which was founded 1700 years ago and preserves enormously rich history. Your guide will lead you through narrow streets of Diocletian’s Palace (UNESCO Heritage site), built in the 4th century by Roman Emperor, show perfectly preserved basement and former Temple of Jupiter in the central ancient Peristyle Square. Nowadays the Temple hosts city Cathedral, and this complex is one of the world’s oldest building of that kind. You’ll pass through Golden and Silver Gates and walk via noisy markets and Riva, shopping zone. Afternoon hours will be devoted to fairytale Trogir, UNESCO World Heritage Site. Enjoy a guided sightseeing tour walking through blend of Romanesque-Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque architecture. See Cathedral of St. Lawrence, Clock Tower, the Loggia, the Land Gate, Kamerlengo Castle and St. Mark's Tower. Return to Split. In the evening, enjoy charming Mediterranean atmosphere, relax yourself and take a dinner at the sea shore.

Day 8

Split - Šibenik - Zadar - Plitvice

Breakfast. Drive towards Šibenik, city famous for its narrow curvy streets, stone-made houses, lots of stairs and remains of the city walls. Mediterranean atmosphere of the city hosts lots of monuments, among which St. James Cathedral (UNESCO protected monument), constructed by locals for hundreds of years, has a special place. Next stop during your discovery of Dalmatian coast is Zadar, ancient city in Croatian Central Adriatic. With your guide you’ll explore this Gothic-Romanesque city in relaxing walking tour. While you are wandering through old houses and cobbled streets, surrounded with ancient city walls and gates, you’ll visit 12th century Romanesque Church of St. Mary, the Church of St. Chrysogonus and the St. Anastasia Cathedral. Another must-see on this walking tour is experimental music instrument Sea Organ, whose melodies are created by the breaking waves and tubes located underneath a set of marble steps. In the late afternoon arrive at the hotel at Plitvice Lakes. In refreshing atmosphere you might relax and enjoy the dinner in hotel restaurant or in nearby local restaurant. 

Day 9

Plitvice - Zagreb

After breakfast, start exploring Plitvice Lakes, magnificent area that consists of 16 connected lakes terraces. On old maps it was named as “Devil’s Garden”, and it is a first sight in Balkans that got UNESCO World Heritage status. You will enjoy a 3-hour guided tour that visits Upper and Lower lakes and lets you contemplate untouched nature. Although swimming is forbidden here, you will see best places for relaxation in this green paradise. Your final stop in this great Balkan tour is Croatian capital, Zagreb. This small gem of European culture and civilization is located in the heart of the continent. Sightseeing tour around Zagreb will show you all main Zagreb sights: Kaptol (the medieval part of Zagreb), the Franciscan Monastery and the Church of St. Francis from the 13th century. You’ll walk around farmer’s market called Dolac, and visit Baroque Church of St. Mary from the 18th century. The tour will end in the heart of Zagreb, at Ban Josip Jelačić’s monument on the square called after him. Optional: In the evening, a dinner in one of the authentic Zagreb’s restaurants will help you to find out tastes of Croatian continental food. Try out different specialties and compare it with local food from other Balkan countries.  

Day 10

Departure from Belgrade

Breakfast and hotel check-out. Depending of the time of departure, use your free time and explore Zagreb on your own. Transfer to the Airport. End of services.
